I HAVE READ …

Title: The Giver

Author: Lois Lowry

Characters: Jonas, The Giver

Book Recommendation:
The story is about the main character, a 12-year-old boy named Jonas. He lives in a very controlled community where everything is organized: people don’t feel strong emotions, they don’t make their own choices, and they don’t even see colors. There is no war, no pain, and no sadness but also there is also no love, no freedom, and no real happiness.
Jonas was assigned to be the next Receiver of Memory, a very special and important role. He begins to meet with an old man called The Giver, who gives him memories from the past, memories of real life, with all its beauty and pain. For the first time, Jonas learns about colors, love, and also about war, lies, and death.
As Jonas receives more memories, he starts to see his community in a different way, because he noticed that they are missing something very important: real human experience. He begins to question everything he thought was normal. The rules, the decisions that the community makes for them, are really the best option? He has to make a big decision: whether to stay in the safe but empty world he knows, or to try and change it.

Personal Opinion:

This book took all my words!!
I really liked The Giver because it made me think about life in a different way. At first, the community in the book seems perfect, without pain, no war, and no problems. But as I read more, I realized that this “perfect” life is missing something very important: real emotions, freedom, and the ability to choose.
I liked the character of Jonas because he is brave and curious. He starts to see the truth about his world, and even though it is difficult, he wants something better, and tries to change it. I think that’s very inspiring.
The story is short and easy to understand, but it has a strong message. It shows us how important our memories, feelings, and choices are. I think that this book will be in your mind, even after you finish it!
In my opinion, The Giver is a beautiful book. I recommend it to anyone who wants to think more about the world around them.
